I haven’t made this dish in ages so I’m doing a quick repost to LJ, sharing here, with a composite picture I shared on FB … cause I’m a lazy person.
The recipe can be found in the original post I did, eight years ago, with credit to the blog that I found it on. I made it with regular potatoes this time, as that’s all that I had, and it’s what her recipe called for.

REVIEW: Fast and delicious with simple ingredients likely available in most people’s kitchens. The recipe calls for Madras curry but you can use whatever Indian curry you have.
Looks and sounds delicious
Thank you.
Looks great, nice and easy. I missed it the first time around, and I am glad I caught it now.
It’s not a bad recipe to try esp for those new to Indian cuisine. 🙂
We are far from new to Indian cuisine, and we love it, so this simple dish is certainly for us.
It was among the 1st Indian dishes I made at home … along with samosas, butter chicken and chickpea curry. 😉
I still have to make samosas – I keep forgetting.
Looks delicious and hearty, and perfectly comforting. My kitchen smells like an Indian feast as I am cooking for an intimate dinner on Friday. We will still be outside providing it’s not as sweltering or rainy as it has been.
Sounds amazing. I miss those big Indian spreads. I should really hit my Indian grocery store and see what they have in their sweets/samosa display cases. Maybe pick up a clamshell of jalebis. 🙂
