January/early February 2015

January was a fun month of cooking. Page back through the posts on my LJ  for a look. I finally caved and made the famous Italian dessert, tiramisu. I started with a limoncello version which I loved so much that I had to try the classic chocolate/coffee version too. I had a craving for one of my childhood favourites … chicken livers and spinach though I also made more ‘modern’ versions of each of the two. And then there was the pot roast, a big batch of refried beans and a healthy pot of kale and tofu soup. I treated myself to dim sum at a local Chinese restaurant at the end of January and in early February, I went out for a birthday dinner of sushi. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera at home so no pictures of that outing. 🙂

    1. Thank you for the b’day wish. I’m just trying to get through this miserable winter, one day at a time. Spring can’t come too soon for my taste.
